RE: oil pressure reading at gage.

No explanation for the 0 reading, but the 80, 60, and 20 are exactly what mine shows.

RE: Merced to Yosemite NP

I would probably take Hwy 140 out of Merced and go thru Mariposa to the park.

RE: I-5 Bakersfield to 580 versus 99

We stay at the Yermo KOA, on the way east and as our last stop on the way home. Be sure and take hwy 58 in Barstow to Bakersfield, then north on 99 13 miles to hwy 46 (exit 37) go west on 46 to I 5. My Delorme shows that route as 337 miles. Here is a link to a Delorme Map Share of that route. (I hope the link works)I have not used Map Share before.
To Patterson
Patterson is exit 434 on I 5

RE: I-5 Bakersfield to 580 versus 99

If you take 99 you have to turn left at Turlock on West Main and then it is 16 miles to Patterson, and yes 99 is rough in places also.

RE: Best Route---Sacramento to Louisiana

chevy lover is right, we usually go to Needles and then go south on 95 thru Havasu. to I 10. It cuts out Riverside and San Berdo.

RE: Best Route---Sacramento to Louisiana

I would take I 5 down to hwy 46 which cuts over to 99, take 99 south to Bakersfield, then east on 58, to Kramer Junction. Take 395 south to I 10. That way you miss the Grapevine and the Los Angeles traffic.
Good road all the way.

RE: UNAVAILABLE WI-FI

We were in a park in Florida in July that had great Wifi during the day but about an hour after the office closed it would go down. The wireless router signal was still 5 bars but it would not connect you to the Internet. It turned out that they would turn the office computers off when they closed, and if no one was using the Wifi their ISP would drop the connection after a certain amount of time, and would not hook back up until they logged on in the office in the morning. I talked to them about it but they said it was company policy to turn off the computers at night.
So I did a google search in the morning and found an Automatic Ping Program called Stayalive Pro which randomly pings various search engines every 15 to 90 seconds. I had Wifi the rest of the time I was there.
It also worked at what used to be the KOA in FT Sockton TX which had the same problem.

RE: RV Vacation cost study

My DW had a family reunion in Panama City Florida on the 4th of July. We took six weeks to make the round trip, with 2 weeks of that spent in in Panama City Beach.
Total round trip miles 5200.
Total paid for fuel $3055.
Total Paid for RV Parks for round trip $1291.
Plus we traveled at our own pace, stopped to see the sites, and had our bed, kitchen, bathroom, direct tv, and our Jeep with us.
My Brother Flew down from Washington DC and stayed at Panama City Beach for two weeks.
Cost of renting a waterfront Condo $4000.
Round trip airfare for three from DC, I am not sure but I am guessing over $1000.
Car Rental for 2 weeks $420.
So who had the best vacation?
I'm guessing me and the DW.

RE: "moving" to NV

You had better check on the Nevada registration fees for your unit. If it is a newer rig you may find that the income tax savings is lost to the registration fees.

RE: Fill toilet with foot valve?

On the back of my Thetford there is a small metal linkage that goes from the water valve to the flush valve. It rides in a slot on the flush valve. Put a dab of grease on the end of the end of the linkage. I had to use one of the DW's makeup mirrors to help me see how it operates.

RE: Cummins isc 8.3 330 fuel filters

There is one on the curb side of the engine, behind the oil filler tube and the power steering tank when you open the rear doors, the other one is on the roadside, behind the the tranny cooler, just ahead of the power cord compartment. You should have a tee shaped key to open that compartment, it is also where the tank is for the hydraulic fluid for your leveling jacks.

RE: How hot does it have to get b4 your aircond's can't keep up?

On the way to Florida this year we stopped at Quartsite on the 20th of June. We got there at 3pm it was 117 degrees. Inside it was 83, with dual pane windows, awnings out, and the front curtain closed. By 9pm it was down to 75.

An uninformed reporter took a phone report from CHP dispath. It was a motorhome, it had a tow dolly and a small SUV as a toad.
